For this project, I was assigned to design a shoe that highlighted pattern/repetition and employed the use of a "scale surprise." I found inspiration from a medieval device known as the Iron Maiden, and set out to create a shoe that was so deadly that it's unwearable, but so glamorous that it's impossible to resist. I highlighted pattern/repetition with spikes in the footbed, while the extra large spikes on the heel provide an exciting scale surprise.
